Sold my blog pretty quick

I listed my little blog about houseplants on Flippa a few weeks ago. It was super easy to set up the listing and I got some interest pretty fast. Someone bought it after about 10 days, which was faster than I thought. The whole thing was pretty smooth.

Good value for starter site

I bought a small starter site on Flippa to get my feet wet with online businesses. I checked out a few platforms but Flippa had a good selection in my price range. The listing fee seemed fair and I managed to pick up a decent site for what felt like a good deal. The escrow process felt secure, which was important for me as a first-time buyer. Overall, it was a worthwhile purchase.

Listing process was detailed

I listed an e-commerce store I'd been running for a few years on Flippa. The listing process was quite thorough; they asked for a lot of details about revenue, traffic, and operations, which took a bit of time to gather, but I guess that helps buyers. I used their valuation tool, which gave me a ballpark figure. Communication with potential buyers happened directly through their platform, which was convenient. The support team answered a question I had about due diligence within a day. The store sold within a month, and the funds went through their escrow service without any issues. It was a solid experience from start to finish.

Thinking of listing a small e-commerce store, are there any deals for new sellers? Or like, a free valuation code or something?

E Elizabeth T. 2 weeks ago
Yeah, sometimes they have promos for first-time sellers. Keep an eye out around Black Friday, they usually do something then too.

i think if you sign up for their newsletter, sometimes they send out a free valuation offer. worth a shot.

Are Flippa's fees crazy high for selling? Just wondering if it's even worth it for a smaller site or if Empire Flippers is better.

N Nathan Roberts 1 week ago
Flippa has different listing packages, so you can pick what works for your budget. Empire Flippers usually focuses on bigger businesses so the fees might reflect that.

The success fees depend on the sale price, but the listing fee itself isn't too bad. You can compare the packages on their site.

How long does it typically take for a business to sell on Flippa? Got a small Amazon FBA store I wanna offload.

A Alex T. 1 week ago
It really depends on the business and how it's priced. Could be a few weeks if it's hot, or a couple of months. Make sure your listing is solid.

I sold an e-commerce store in about a month, but I put a lot of effort into the listing and was quick to answer buyer questions.

Does anyone use their BrokerAI tool? Is it actually useful or just a gimmick?

R Robert Evans 1 week ago
I tried it once for a valuation, it gave a decent estimate, but I wouldn't rely on it solely. Good starting point though.

It's pretty neat for getting a quick idea of what your business might be worth before you go deeper. It's not perfect but it's a useful feature.

what's the deal with promo codes? can you use them for the success fee or just the upfront listing cost?

M Megan Thomas 1 week ago
Afaik, it's usually just for the listing fee. I've never seen one that applies to the success fee after the sale.

Yeah, they're typically for the initial listing or premium placements. You enter it when you're setting up the listing.

Is Flippa good for buying? Like, am I gonna get scammed or is it pretty safe to buy a business through them?

A Alex C. 2 weeks ago
I've bought a couple of content sites there. Used their escrow service which makes it pretty safe. You just need to do your own due diligence on the business.

Yeah, for sure. They have verification steps for sellers, but it's always good to be cautious and really dig into the numbers yourself.
